So ok I wanted to make a post talking about my thoughts on ep110 but I feel like they're gonna be scattered but bear with me

I think the most important thing I wanted to mention is that the way the starfruit is described feels symbolic of what Keroro actually wants deep down

essentially a hybrid of the best of both, coming together into a single unit. all keroro does want is for keron and earth to co-exist in harmony, but his flawed way of imagining that is explored a bit more in 110b.

Any sort of invasion, even a peaceful one, despite being the best possible scenario for him in the situation he's in, still implies changing things about earth in order to achieve it and... as he realized, he doesn't want that!

Having a nightmare about successfully invading... Even with the starfruit representing literally the best possible scenario. It highlights his impossible task, but it also served to make him reflect about the invasion and his feelings on it at all.

In fact this whole episode is huge in this regard because the whole reason he got sick in the first place was stress and failure to adapt (hey! remember those old posts I made about how he doesn't quite feel at home on either planet and even though he loves earth it feels unwelcoming too in many aspects...) and it's easy to see why, normally we can see his stress, but this season won't let us forget (thanks to that beautiful timer device). With this constant reminder of what he has to do, where usually he likes to not think about it at all.

Coming to terms with his feelings towards earth and his own role in regards to it when it comes to invading, realizing you don't want anything to change about it really, in the second half that is.

The entire first half he spends it severely downplaying his negative feelings, which is nothing new, he often does this.

Trudging through his daily tasks sluggishly, doesn't ask for help or complain at all, actually the opposite is true.

Losing strength and physically lighter, like someone who doesn't want to be a weight and can't stand up for what he believes in. Ready to give up.

The kind of lethargy one experiences when under extreme pressure (and already depressed if I'm allowed to add), which is why when he tastes the starfruit (which again, what it represents...) which is one new positive thing he hadn't experienced before (something to keep going for), he literally breaks down in tears. And then attaches way too much importance to it (in a dream yes, but that's still his subconscious so, if anything it counts more).

Normal phrase to say for someone whose feelings are totally stable and not at all experiencing an extreme low. Normal tantrum behavior showing perfectly fine emotional regulation, not dramatic at all.

So anyway in my opinion from what I've observed so far anime keroro really isn't one to explicate his real feelings/needs or even do much self reflection on them at all. Normally, these occur when he's under huge stress. On average he has tantrums or indulges in escapism.

When Aki asks him a simple question on it, he has to stop and think about it, despite literally almost dying from the severity of them. My alexithymia king.

And then and only then, when it feels like he'll actually be listened to (by the way, getting ignored seems to be a big trigger for him! just based on observing his reactions... when people don't pay attention to him or praise something else while he's there... and stuff like that), does he say it in a way that feels so understated.

But to me it's really huge, because I don't think he has ever admitted these two facts so naturally. Or at all?

And as I said the shot with the timer feels especially devious in this context, it's a reminder to us the viewer that anyway how Keroro feels about the invasion doesn't matter, because he really has no agency or choice about it at this point. It's also a visual reminder of the obvious other underlying reason for his stress, that he doesn't outright say, but is shown to us regardless.

I think maybe, in such a context, even praise for a job well done could start mattering less to him, because the outcome is what's unfavorable, the thing he dreads.

That might be why this did nothing for him. Throughout the day so many duties, things he has to do, but not many times that he's asked how he feels about it (which is why he often ends up snapping in extreme ways). Like "what's the point?" of even thinking about it, if the situation is set in stone no matter what?

And I know Aki said may disease and we settled on that, it's the closest thing for sure, it lends a description for the type of disappointment he feels about what he has to do. But I do feel like it's not about "may" for him, it's more long lasting, it's just reaching a boiling point now due to the set timer. And may disease (while not clinically recognized) is best described as a type of minor depression. Keroro doesn't really have responsibilities tied to japan school/work (even if it's representing it), so you also have to see the bigger picture of it here... of why it manifested... He himself says he carries stress and unease every day. So it's not limited to may, it's circumscribed to his situation.

So yeah that's it these were my thoughts on the ep

Here, Mako is explaining why Korra drives the way she does. She was just a lil distracted okay?? She’s not a bad driver because she has never done anything wrong in her life!

This is Mako succinctly describing their break up, but the real villain here is the adults who let two teenagers bear the brunt of political pressures. Even though their relationship was very stressful near the end, Mako is mindful of the good times. He still believes what they had was a masterpiece 😢 It’s almost like applying pressure to carbon turns it into a diamond

literally could not get to sleep last night until about 3am so have now managed to plot some sort of mini hsr au's for some of my gen.shin muses:

kav.eh - surprisingly the least developed, but he's definitely imaginary remembrance, using me.hrak as a summon. kinda waiting for the next patches to drop on more lore of the remembrance as a whole before i commit to anything big on this, though!

neuv.illette - one of the judges of the ten lords comm.ission, a vidyadha.ra involved in the imbibitor lunae's arrest and subsequent imprisonment to the shackling prison. now forced to bare witness more towards the schemes that surrounded this, it's certain he feels a certain amount of guilt for making such a choice. def on the hunt path - element i am uncertain of.

tartag.lia - once a child with big dreams and goals to join the silvermane guard, he disappeared one day during his youth down a hole never to be seen by his family or friends again. truthfully, he disappeared into the path of the nihility, only to be rescued by one of it's emanators, ski.rk. unfortunately, it wasn't specified which area of belo.bog ski.rk was to return to the child to and he's been living in the underground ever since. is a pretty infamous champ at the fightclub. i believe him and luca are good friends and you cannot convince me otherwise. he is lightning nihility though, im very sorry acher.on and kaf.ka ...

thom.a's and aya.kas are pretty intertwined but separate - they alongside aya.to were all childhood friends on a planet that was eventually attacked by dr prim.ative. tho.ma essentially ends up taking a risk to sacrifice himself so that aya.ka and aya.to get away, much to their dismay but inability to stop, but he is eventually found by the galaxy rangers and taken in, he is fire the hunt. ayaka, in comparison, ends up travelling around a few places with her brother. they're still inseperable, but are now considered stowaways with no real home. they have the same goal as tho.ma, to find each other and then, maybe then they'll be able to find some semblence of home again.

kami hsr, 2.0.

not that i'm getting rid of the current verse for him, but i had another thought.

since hsr takes place far far in the future, same universe as genpact, i want to do something with kami being in that storyline, but as his mainverse self.

since he's immortal and cannot actually die, it'd be interesting if he lived beyond the ending of teyvat and just merely existed for thousands of years, or eons, and slowly adapting to the changes around him. like maybe he found a way out of teyvat and into the real space, traveling and adapting to the grander scope of things, until he finds himself in current times hsr.

so he's still wanderer, hat guy, formerly scaramouche. just now thousands of years in the future and he's so dead and sad inside but here's new people that might want to befriend him, and he's so desperate for anything to stave off the loneliness that he accepts.

and he'll constantly make references like "back in my day, the luofu was like liyue."

and everyone is like "okay grandpa let's get you to bed."

and honestly this could be the most tragic, funniest au ever.

Sophie would never take for granted how lucky she'd been to be able to intern with her Dad and Kirsten, especially when she'd heard some of the horror stories from her former classmates about their current opportunities. Even though she was aware she was being given some of the more tedious and less glamorous jobs - like going through boxes and boxes of paperwork, it was all part of moving forward in her career.

One thing she wasn't so good at yet, was balancing her day job with the effects of Daredeviling; she'd picked up more than a few bruises and aches last night, and three hours sitting at a desk hadn't done much to help with that. She hadn't expected that reaching for her coffee cup in the break room would be what would have her wincing in pain. Sophie didn't need to see the concerned frown on her dad's face to know it was there.

"I'm fine, dad," she assured him, finally filling her coffee mug before sitting down. Whatever pain she was feeling, she'd happily take it if it meant he didn't have to do it anymore. "Really, I promise."

Ok so TFW ends up in NY for some reason and they're actually desperately trying to avoid Times Square but they stumble upon it anyway on their way to the restaurant Dean picked

Dean would be very jumpy and irritated, complaining about tourists (bc they're not tourists they're just here for work lol) and trying to strong-arm his way through the crowd, meanwhile Sam is trying to make sure no one gets separated. Jack would be looking around at all the big screens and all the people, I don't think he would enjoy it but he would appreciate having the experience. Cas would be confused and ask why so many people are drawn to what amounts to a giant ad space when there are many more impressive landmarks in just a 5 mile radius.

The whole adventure ends with Dean almost getting into a fistfight with a costumed character who tricked Jack into taking a selfie with him before demanding money, and Cas has to physically restrain Dean while Sam gives the guy $5
